reduce, RE-USE, recycle [Part I]

Regarding the 3 “R”s, I always prefer the Reuse one, since generally you don’t have to use any energy in transforming the item. In this case, I’m re-using a defunct flat monitor found on the street; just opened it, took all the inside parts out, cut mirror (found by chance on the street too) to size, assembled again, and installed it in the bathroom, using Blue Tack to fix its base on the tiles.

I like the idea of giving a product, a creation, a design; a “second” chance, after being discarded. Plus, I’m saving it from going to the landfills.

Remember to choose Re-Use first.

One Response to reduce, RE-USE, recycle [Part I]

  1. Someone on Australia St. has reused a big old T.V. as a table right in front of their house. I’m in year one.
